What kind of oil can I use to top up an oil filled radiator?
Bathroom towel radiator leaked a little around the heating element which is bolted in at the bottom of the radiator. I tightened the bolt and the leak is cured but the top two rungs of the radiator are now empty.
Couldn't find anyone who knew, I just went with baby oil in the end seems to be working fine. Of course it would be too expensive to fill a whole radiator with baby oil and it may well not be suitable, but to top up after a small leak it seems to be ok.

Thanks, I've tried to find the manufacturer without any luck. It's about 7 years old and the even the shop I bought it from can't tell me who actually made it!
I only need to top it up, maybe about 5% of the total volume of oil, probably less. I'm thinking at that percentage anything vaguely suitable will probably do the job?

I think you need to contact the manufacturer here - your oil radiator will be filled with a special transformer oil - mineral based - but as for the capacity and viscosity I really don't have a clue.
