how to fix zanussi washing machine?

I have a Zanussi ZWF series front loading washing machine. It will not start. I have looked for the error and got the start/pause button and the end button flashing eight times. the first two flashes include the start/pause button with the end button flashing for the whole eight. When I switch it on there is power going to it and it makes normal ready noise for a motor.
