How to fix a pull cord light switch?

Its just the switch itself having given up the ghost...easy enough to replace, and if you're really lucky and can replace like for like, you won't have to replace the rose bit that screws into the ceiling. Check how many wires are there - you can buy single or double pole switches, but in reality a double pole will work for both.
