Mend MTD 18/42 Running Fine Year

MTD TRANSMISSION LEAK?

I HAVE A MTD 18/42 RIDING MOWER IT WAS RUNNING FINE I PARKED IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID RAN OUT. LOCAL REPAIR MAN SAID THERE WAS NO WAY TO PUT FLUID BACK IN. FOUND THAT HARD TO BELEIVE, SO I'M SEARCHING. THANKS, JIM

Yeah, many lawn tractors have sealed transmissions, so there's no way to change the fluid (drain/refill). So, there's also no easy way to add fluid.

I'm sure you could open the case and refill it, but it's probably not in any service manual. It's a disposable tranmission. The manual probably says remove/replace.
