first time this has happened, i unloaded the dishwasher and there is still a pool of water which hasn't drained properly. any one any ideas?

Same problem here. It turned out to be the pump....A common problem with this model Apparently the impellor falls off within the unit. I,ve ordered a new one off e bay (£78.00) and will be fitting it myself
