Ryobi SS30 gas trimmer-How do I change the starter string?

I have a ryobi SS30 gas trimmer and would like to now how to get the chrome piece that the drive shaft attaches to offthe motor cover?

I have every screw removed but cannot get that chrome connector off and the instruction booklet doesnot even touch on fixing a screwed up pull string..........
