My windscreen wipers won't turn off (Nissan Micra S - 54?

Just wanted to say a big thank-you to Gotlus and others for posting this info. The same problem had been bugging me for ages in my 53-reg Micra and had been beginning to getting worse. Garages told me because the problem was intermittent, and not happening when they had the car in, they couldn't diagnose the issue.

On the basis of info from this page I took the car in to get the washer pump replaced (for info: cost £27 for part, £30 for labour, plus VAT) and all now is fixed. Thanks again!

The previous answer by Gotlus is correct.
I just had exactly the same problem with my K12 Micra, however, when I dried the pump out out on the radiator overnight, it worked the next morning when I refitted it, but the problem returned later that day. In my case I think that the water must have been getting into the motor from the washer reservoir rather than an external source (e.g. rain).
I fitted a new pump and everything is now working correctly.

my micra 2004 faces the same problem now , after the rain or after wash it never stopes. it will stop when i switch on the indicator or lift up the bonnet. in a sunny or dry day there is no problem every thing works perfect.

pls advice me my mechanic could not sort it out.

my nissan mistral had the same problem.
when you open the bonnet,in the upper right corner(oppositr the glove dep.) sits the 'relay' and this was the culprit..the relay was burned out.
you loosen two nuts,take it out and replace it.
it cost us $90 inc. labour.

it's moisture in the screen washer pump . You can test if this is the cause by squirting the rear windscreen for a few seconds. If it stops the wipers then this is where the problem is. Remove the pump which just pulls out of tank (you do have to remove the front right headlight first, nightmare) take the pump out of the plastic housing and let it dry on a radiator overnight. I sealed mine on re-assembly with insulating tape to prevent damp getting in again.

I clean the rain sensor.

(Rain sensor is on the screen behind the inside mirror.)
NOT ANY MORE WIPERS PROBLEM.

I can able to tell yoy it's the bcm under passenger side headlight.
Replace that and all ok.
£200. 00 from dealers, £40.00 breakers

Hi,

My car (Nissan Micra Year 2004) had same problem. There was a fault computer fuse system.
This fuse box is under the left hand headlight. Motor mechanic removed the headlight and fix a new computer system fuse box.
It cost me £80.00 (Fuse box £20.00 + labour £60.00)
Now my car has no wiper problem in rain.

MY CAR( NISSAN MICRA 2004 YEAR) HAD SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS A COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS FUSE BOX IS HIDING UNDER NEAT THE LEFT HAND SIDE HEADLIGHT. GARAGE MAN PUT THE NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM FUSE BOX. HE REMOVED THE HEADLIGHT AND FIX A NEW FUSE BOX.
I BOUGHT FUSE BOX FROM SECOND HAND (£20.00)
IT COST ME £80.00 (FUSE BOX £20.00 + LABOUR £60.00 )
THANK GOD MY IS OK,
NO MORE WIPERS PROBLEM.
