On Ariston and Indesit washing machines the dial turning indicates the controler has detected a fault.
While the dial is turning one of the lights will be flashing. If you watch closely you will see that there is a sequence, so many flashes then a larger pause, then the same number of flashes again. Count this number, it is the fault code number, and add a post. I will see what I can find.
