toshiba portable dvd player no valid disc?

when i try to load disc in player ,it wont load ,it puts message up on screen no valid disc .on the occasions it does load it plays perfect,is it possible to repair this?

Jimmy was right, I had this problem and used his trick. Worked the second time I pushed the metallic laser reader towards it top. THANKS JIMMY!

remove the DVD - push the 'laser reader' (don't know what it's supposed to be called, but it's the only part that moves, you'll know it when you see it) all the way to the top. I repeated this a couple of times and it seems to be working now. good luck!
