How can I fix my Washer Dryer, Zanussi, ZWD 12270 W?

My daughter can't find her watch! The drum of my washer/dryer is jammed and the belt broken. I assume I have to seperate the inner and outer drum by loosening the central bolt at the rear. I have broken 2 torx T50 bits in it with a 2ft long drive.
1. Is this the correct course of action
2. How is this achieved
3. Is it a right or left hand thread.
