Mend Briggs & Stratton 15.5 Intek Lawn Mower Fuel Pump

15.5 briggs and stratton oil coming from fuel pump?

I have a briggs and stratton 15.5 hp intek on an ariens lawn mower and there is oil coming out of the bronze filter located on the fuel pump. After mowing for a couple of hours after a fresh oil change, oil is very black and is below the add mark. Any help is appreciated.

same problem with my JD LA125, 21 HP BS, changed oil, oil leaked out of fuel pump, new float, float seat, fuel pump, air filter, did not fix the problem, ordered head gasket according to some Blogs that may be the problem, dealer has no clue what the problem is. Hope this gives you some direction.

sounds like the diaphram in fuel pump has ruptured
