Ryobi BC30 trimmer pull rope stuck?

The pull rope on my Ryobi BC30 is stuck, can not pull. How do you open it to access the pull rope mechanism?

Well you half to take it apart, and then you might need to lube up the shaft that connects, too the magneto.

Mine was stuck out. I used a screwdriver to wind it back up by sticking it through vent holes. Pulled it again and still stuck. Think the sring is broke. I tried to take it apart but cannot get the big round piece off that drives the shaft.

Is it stuck in or stuck out? if its out you dont need to take it completely apart, just take of the star bolts at the end of the stalk near to the shaft. (strimmer, hedge trimmer or whatevet your using inside you will see a hexagonol head, get a large screw driver or pliers and turn it to retieve the cord back to the start, if its stuck in try turning it both ways to unjam it.
