TWO STROKE ENGINE CUTTING OUT?

I have a McCulloch two stroke grass strimmer, which fires up very quickly and then dies.
Is this a problem that rings a bell.

I have a McCulloch hedge trimmer that does the same. I think the mixture is too rich for it to run. Also a strimmer same as yours which won't start that will cost more to fix than buy a new one!
