Bosch 1600 excell flashing display but no action?

I have a Bosch Exxel 1600 Express, which was stopped accidentally in its program. This resulted in the tub being full of wtare, which I drained. But now when its programed to wash, it simply flashes the display and does nothing else. What have I overlooked?
