Repair AWRC3G Bose wave radio CD player?

Firstly, found related articles very helpful. Thanks Guys.

My Bose wave Radio model number AWRC3G, CD player won't play any CD the head keeps searching sometimes "no disc" is displayed. Similar symptoms to Bob's AWRC3x I believe.
I was wondering whether the Sanyo laser (Steve) mentioned would also fit my model?
I'd rather attempt repair myself than send away or discard for cheaper newer model.

Yes it has a fuse inside it’s a 500 ma
If you still got no power you need to check that the transformer is working there is a thermal fuse in that too.
If you got power at the transformer and the fuse is ok next check that the two voltage regs 7805 for pwr input then 5 volts
If not then I go for the main reg on the heat sink TDA7375A
