how can i fix my hotpoint aquarius machine?

1 clean out the sump filter hidden in the bottom hose connected to bottom of outer drum(remove excess water first)
2 clean out and verify operation of drain pump.
this may solve problem if not go to no 3
3 check the motor brushes
reason i gave the above info
the pump cannot pump off if the filter is partly blocked
the drum cannot spin if it still holding water

Your brushes have probabley worn out.Remowve top 2 screws at back you will see the motor at the top right hand side.Now asimple test but be carful put the knob on spin cycle switch on get something insulated a screwdriver is good and tap the motor gently if it spins switch off unhplug remove motor 2 bolts and motor plug you will see caRBON BRUSHES PRISE THESE OUT AND REPLACE THEN REVERSE FIT MOTOR AND LID COST LESS THAN £10.00 GOOD LUCK
