keep blowing fuse to tail lights when trailer plugged in?

when trailer plugs in to dodge caravan we blow the running light fuse over and over any idea where the short may be?

Obviously there is a direct short to earth here...the fault could be in the plug itself or the lamp units....maybe the plug isn't wired to the correct colour code? However, I get a lot of problems where the cable has been allowed to drag along the road, wearing the insulation through, so check that carefully.
