how do i fix a wooden window sill to the brick below it?

We are in the process of tiling a kitchen and in removing the old tiles from the window sill, found the sill itself to merely be a piece of plasterboard fixed with no more nails. We have removed this and purchased a wooden window sill but i am unsure how to fix it to the brick below.

You can drill through the sill and into the brick. Open the hole up in the brick to take a rawplug. Countersink the hole in the sill and screw the sill down to the brick, finish off by covering screw top with wood filler.

donna buy a counter sinker in any diy shop cost you a few ££. put you window sill in place. then come in 6 1ns from both sides and place the counter sinker were the first hole is to be made and drill a 3mm hole. and do the same on the other side. when you have done that get a small masonary drill bit and drill down though the counter sinker into the brick. when you have done that put the rawlplug into each hole you have just made then screw the sill down. donna if you have some sawdust left from the sill, mix it with some glue and fill the holes.

No nails is actually perfectly good in this situation - if you wish to fix the new cill with rawlplugs then that is ok too - but you'll be left with visible screws.
