Have a Royal Orca 9512X Shredder that just quit need diagrams etc. ideas ?

Have a Royal Orca 9512X Shredder that just quit need manual, diagrams etc. with ideas on what to look for first. Checked the fuse and it is ok. Live in Missouri and need help. This is a dynamite shredder and I would hate to just throw it out.

I too have this shredder, and it is DYNAMITE! Hate to lose it cause I think hands down beats all shredders I have seen on the market. Great capacity!

My problem is basically dull cutters. So I have to shred
favoring the right side of the shredder to avoid jams.

Other problem is that this thing has to be about 20 yrs old, and the plastic parts are wearing. There is a mechanism on the underside, which is intended to STOP the shredder from functioning when it's full (weight from the shredder triggers it).

So, my current problem may be yours. Play around with the basket, and see if that gets it to work. In my situation, I have to slightly tilt it forward (the basket) and it starts to function. But, it's a pain to have to do that each time to make it work, especially when you have a lot of shredding to do.

Also have a Royal Orca 9512x Shredder that "just quit".

TRY THIS:
On the back of the unit housing the motor and shredding blades is a circular opening with a screw in cover. Open it and remove the 125V 60Hz 4 amps fuse. Replace the fuse. Oil the motor. Reassemble the machine. Plug it in; turn on the shredder and feed it some paper.

I'm assuming you still have the ORCA. I too love the shredder. The confetti cuts are amazing!

Well, I took the switch apart. The best I can tell is it is probably some sort of overload switch, because it has a type of breaker in it. Interestingly, the problem was not a loose pole. I could not figure out what mechanism would trigger the overload switch to break; so, I took the two wires that fed into the switch and just connected them together (bypassed the switch). Now, the manual mode works just fine, but the auto mode doesn't work at all. Since I only need one mode to work, and we don't constantly feed heavy volumes of paper to be shredded, I'm going to leave everything as is, instead of trying to figure why the auto mode doesn't work. Good luck to you, though. Maybe your problem is diff. than mine.

I'm working on this same model right now, with the same problem. I found my solution. Maybe it's yours as well. Take off the main plastic top cover. When facing the front of the machine, look above the motor, near the top of the machine. There is a small switch that is screwed in. It has one orange and one black wire going to it. I unscrewed the switch, but didn't detach the wires. I then made the machine run. As I moved the switch around, the motor would turn off and on. I finally figured that one of the poles is loose! The name of the switch is Zippy (part no. VMN-06.6A). You can find the part at PlcCenter.com. It only costs about $4.00. However they have a min. order of $25.00. So, if anyone has an idea where I could find a cheaper one, I'd appreciate the lead. I'm considering trying to pry the switch open and trying to fix it. Will let you know if that works

Ok doesn't run in reverse,so would i need to get another motor? Oh i did clear paper and rotate the wheel backwards. So would it be safe to say the motor is shot?

First of all you have to find out if it is mechanical or electrical problem. Mechanically, check for paper jam. Electrically, check for power going to the motor. Clear all paper bits inside the shredder cutters. Try to rotate the cutting blades (unplug power first) to clear the paper bits. There is a sensor inside the "paper feed slot" for paper detection. When shredder is put on "Reverse" mode, the circuit bypass the sensor. If the shredder runs on "Reverse" mode, then there is power going to the motor...Clem
