How can I get Firmware 9.1.52 2005-01-09?

I inadvertently erased an "no name" mp3/mp4 player, trying to help a friend load it with more music. It was initially synched to a PC, but I have a MacBook Pro that I'm using and I need to know if I can somehow repair my error. The firmware that the disk says it has on it is: 9.1.52 2005-01-09 (there are some other numbers in the version description: BSKD2502_32). Can anyone PLEASE tell me if I've just totally screwed things up or is there some hope of fixing this mess?
