Hoover Vacuum S3530?

The cord on the main attachment head of my Hoover Vacuum S3530 is frayed where it comes out of the head. My problem is to remove the grommet that holds the cord to the head. It looks like there is some kind of washer that is holding the grommet which secures the cord. How does one remove that gromet?
