Worcester Danesmoor 26/32 lockout issue after return from holiday?

Dear all

Our Danesmoor oil boiler, fed from above ground tank in the shed, has locked out on return from holiday.

We missed an annual service this year (as money is tight). The oil tank is full and I have bled the oil pipe, and restarted. The air pump goes for about 10 seconds, tries to light but never makes it. Switching off and on gets the air pump to blow for another 10 seconds, but we get back to the same place we started at.

I'm not really well qualified to play with these things - any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks very much

Damian

This is not an answer but a another question; Starting my Danesmoor 26/32 after the summer break I have now got a screechy noise all the time. I have had the whole injector out (just 2 big screws), and I find that the air fan is fine... freely rotating I cant believe it is the oil pump its a too high pitch noise. Any ideas?

Good time to get the Boiler Serviced, Don't keep resetting it though as each time you try to get it to fire you COULD be injecting a Quantity of oil into the Combustion chamber, where it will stay untill you get the boiler fixed when every one in the near vicinity will know, by the clouds of black Smoke and "Juddery Poke"

There could be a few issues here...when you switch on, the air fan starts to purge the boiler and flue with clean air. After a few seconds, ignition occurs and the oil supply at the pump is switched on. So - we need to establish if the ignition spark is occurring, or whether or not the oil is actually being switched on. If you have a Danfoss pump, the electrical solenoid on the top of it is prone to failure and this would be my first guess. However, a callout by a qualified OFTEC guy could pay dividends.
