Diplomat 8322 intergrated model?

When switched on machine operates for a few minutes, or at least sounds as if it is, but then starts to bleep. On opening the door there is no evideence that water has entered the machine. I have forked out 30 quid call out and I'm told by the man that the inlet valve tested ok so he thinks it may be the PCB. Quoted 210 quid for a replacement board ! .Tried the 'press the far button 4 x' trick but without success. Any suggestions. Thanks folks for your time.
