How can I make my laptop connect to the internet in my new house?

My laptop keeps saying that windows explorer has stopped working and when i took it to my new house the internet wouldn't work at all. Here it seems to work but pop-ups keep appearing saying that windows explorer has stopped working and it restarts but never fixes the problem. It also says rundll32 has stopped working as well as microsoft seaport search enhancement broker has stopped working and has closed. My laptops windows vista and i have internet explorer 7. My Norton 360 seems to have disappeared too so all in all it's quite broken!
