How do I fix my INSIGNIA portable dvd player?

The screen is fine but the disc will not turn on and will not read the disc. It has power to all parts. This is a few years old and thought it would be cheaper to fix plus not fill up the land fill. The model # is Serial # - S029175 Manf. 9/8/06
