Mend Sears 417.41142000 Washing Machine Leak Door Seal

I have a Sears front-loading washer, model #417.41142000. Wire seal?

My washer leaked during a load last night and when I took the clothes out, a circular metal ring, about a foot in diameter, was in the bottom of the wash tub. It obviously came from the black rubber seal on the door. How do I put this back on?
