Hi,

I replaced the battery on my Braun Oral-B Professionalcare Triumph 9400 (9500 in the USA) yesterday - the handset type is 3731.

Its relatively straight forward to do - if a little fiddly at a few points.

Firstly, I'd like to say SHAME on Braun and Oral-B for clearly being deliberate in trying to STOP consumers from changing the battery over.

There is absolutely no reason that a $AUS150 toothbrush should have to be tossed away after several yrs use.

The battery could easily be replaced....but Braun/Oral-B have not included any details on how to do this, advice consumers that call them that this CANNOT be done and have designed the item to try and prevent people from swapping the battery over!

Thats really very poor on many, many levels.....as its an otherwise excellent product and why should a $150 be tossed when a $3 rechargable Ni-MH battery can give it maybe another few yrs use?

Really I am very annoyed at this cynical, selfish approach by Braun/Oral-B.....who are happy for us to toss a high end device thats working perfectly bar one detail and make more landfill so they can MAYBE get more $$$ from us when we buy a new one!

Anyway - I'll post up some rough details of what I did to get the item working again. Alas I didn't take pictures as I wasn't confident I'd be successful but its relatively logical if you take your time and refer to the pics that others have placed up.

The replacement battery you need is a nimh F sized battery.
I replaced one FINALLY two days ago.

AFAIC it is not possible to change the battery on the 9000, you can get the bottom of but the battery is behind internal components that are sealed in.

-Unscrew plug-
-Pull off base . it may be glued
-Beware plastic arms holding the parts in place, one is broken in the picture. pulling on the coil should draw them in but also stretches the wire, so try to push them in without doing this.
-There appears to be no good way to separate the battery, electronics and plastic frame.
-Best bet is to pull out the spring which is attached to a plastic hat exposing the top of the battery, cut away the battery from the connection as close to the battery as possible at both ends. Solder a new battery to the metal stubs left.

I haven't completed the last step yet but I have cut away the battery

Dear Gentlemen's I am Paul from the south of the Netherlands and I also want to know how to replace the battery from my Oral B truimph care 9000, if any one have pictures or ideas it will be welcome ( after two years using the toothbrush he's almost dead...:-(
and to buy a new one for about 120 euro it's a lot of money..

It's relatively simple to doo this for the old cylindrical Braun brushes, and even the batteries don't seem that hard to find.

Hi

Did you ever get this sorted out ?? as I have today done mine although mine it the 9000 not the 9910 which I think is basically the same handset, and you do NOT damage the water seal if done correctly as implied by an authourised supplier, in fact I would say this one (unlike the older Braun models) is designed to come apart easily. and when put back together will infact be watertight again.

Why would you want to spend another £70 on a new handset from an authorised braun agent when to replace the battery is simple, and when it's only 2 years old I think its a waste of Money.

I will gladly post full photos and instructions if required
