this problem is with evrey car but its the pick of the draw and your unlucky like 3 of my m8z and now me it is the water temprature sensor it canot be detected by the falt code reader at a garage but if you replace it it will run sweet as a nut

If you use supermarket petrol it could be that. I had a Corsa that did the same. I ran it on Shell, BP, Texaco and Esso petrol and the problem disappeared. I've never used supermarket fuel in any of my cars since.
