WHY DOES MY WARMFLOW OIL BOILER FIRE THEN CUT-OUT AND RE-START CONTINUOUSLY?

MY WARMFLOW OIL BURNER CONTINUOUSLY STARTS/STOPS & RE-IGNITES ITSELF .MY PLUMBER HAS SERVICED IT, ADJUSTED THE RUNNING TIME WITH A SCREWDRIVER,AND THE EMISSIONS TEST IS PERFECT,OUTSIDE, BUT EACH TIME THE METAL COVER (ON THE HOUSING) IS REPLACED, IT CUTS OUT!
PLEASE ADVISE!!

how can you adjust the running time with a screwdriver? Its electronic. ! Dont get your plumber to do it. You need a proper boiler technician. If it keeps cutting out how can your plumber possibly get accurate readings from the analyiser ?? If it cuts out when you put the metal housing on..... then dont !

It is more likely to be the Flue recirculating flue gasses, get your Service guy to strip and repalce all the joints on the Balanced flue system it will fix it!

If you have a Warmflow boiler then you probably have a Riello RDB or a Riello 40 burner. This fault sounds like a photocell fault.

RDB burner - Take off Red cover and almost in the centre of the burner there is a black wire with plastic ribs on it. Take it out and clean the end of it and repalce.

Riello 40 - Take red box off and your should see the Grey control box. Loosen screw on left side and pull the control box out - it slides out. At the end of the box there is a small white square photocell. Clean and replace.

Restart boiler and that may do the job. Otherwise, replace the photocell and it should work

Thanks
