Mend Creda Cooker Replaced

Point of Light?

Can someone tell me what is the point of a bulb(lamp), in an electric cooker. The one in our Creda gave up the ghost within a month, when we got another, I had only just replaced it,(without touching the actual bulb by the way), it lasted less than a minute, and went pop. Ok, so they don`t cost the earth but are`nt they a complete waste of time and dosh!!!

are you buying the correct TYPE of bulb the ones for a fridge are the same to look at, BUT the ones for a OVEN are the TEMPERED GLASS type, they are made to withstand the high oven temperatures and are usually mounted under/behind a tempered glass covering
