after 5-10 minutes my smeg cooker trips the electric why?
After 5-10 mins my smeg cooker trips the main circuit. If you flick breaker back on it will work again for 5mins or so and the same happens again. The elements appear to be working fine as does the fan. Any suggestions.
The element is defective - as it heats up metal expands - eventually the expansion is sufficient to cause an internal short - the breaker trips - the element cools down - the metal shrinks and the short goes away - you switch on and it works for a while until...
