noisy and continual running?

I purchased a secondhand mistral Fridge/freezer, very happy with it, only one concern is that it seems to be on more than off, it continually kicks in, is this common running with this make. There is no model number, it is a flat back, the digital displays show -23 for the freezer and +3 or 4 for the fridge.
