Dear Paul
The only thing coming from the gas valve is a white lead with a green end on it (a thin bit of plate inside of it) and the start of the thermocouple screw's onto it for a connection, then there's the pipe to the pilot, and another white cable connecting to the back of the gas valve.
yep thats it go to the back of the gas valve and their is a small nut with a white wire from it try to fit t/c lead in their if it will reach you are just bypassing interrupter for a short while.see if that works. these are very tempermental i've had lots trouble with these.
