the radio in my 02 406 Peugeot estate stopped working?

I think it's a loose connection, I bashed the dashboard and it worked, but now its dead, display is still ok, how do I undo the facia surround and get to the back of the radio.
Also I have a CD stuck in the CD player, any suggestions how to get it out;
when I press the release button all I get is a cont. clicking sound.
