Our boiler is 9 years old, it has recently started making a rattling sound when it starts up. our central heating also starts up on its own and nothing we do turns it off unless we turn the boiler off completely.
What can we do to fix this without buying a new boiler???
sounds like the flow switch is stuck on, causing boiler to fire by itself - common fault on this boiler, and noise is probably being caused by pump or fan. get an engineer out to have a look at it.
