not got a lot of cluch peddel and clunks into gear?

Hi, could be the ratchet mechanism on your clutch pedal is severely worn, it's self adjusting so could mean a new one. Look up under the dash with a torch at the very top of the pedal & you'll see a(mine was white)plastic quadrant & pawl,the teeth on these bits can wear away, easy to fit.If your pedal goes straight to the floor most times it's that or the cable has broken?!
