macallister cordless 14.4 drill stuck in hammer mode?
took apart seperated gears and various shims .and naturally have been mixed up to become a jigsaw puzzle none the less. would really appreciate pdf diagram of springs and cogs. searched for hours on net found only 2 diagrams both dewalt.
I had this problem and just prised the setting band apart slightly with a screwdriver and sprayed it with WD40, this fixed the problem straight away and is now as good as new. I have the 18v version of this drill and use and abuse it regularly in all kinds of dusty enviroments and has been going strong for about 3yrs since i bought it new. Best cordless drill i've ever owned!

Similar thing happened to my DeWalt, except it wouldn't go into hammer mode. I cleaned it up with a cotton bud and it worked fine.
You could try contacting the manufacturer for technical data but personally I would give up and chuck it in the bin.
