worcester 24cdi filling loop problem?

I was using plastic key to put preseure back up to 2.5 bar on filling loop.
Turned loop key, then turned grey knob for water intake.
pressure went up to 2.5 as required.
However, the grey knob locked and when i tried to take out key the water poured out.
I switched off mains and , took out key , no water.
I put back in key turned water on, boiler then fired up ok, but the loop key is still in, and will leak if i take it out.
Do I have somehow ( without braking) to get gey water knob to turn. ??
Is this sticking of water intake knob a regular problem.
Help appreciated

the key can get stuck if its not in the correct position to extract. the key should be at an angle - in a direction approx 1-2 oclock 7-8 oclock position - when u extract u can get a bit of water but not a lot - i think that you havent shut off the water with the grey button - when u extract key put some fairy liquid/sim on - when u go to use it again put liquid on again to make it easier to put in/out.
a pressure of 2.5 sounds high to me - who gave u advice - are u in a low water pressure area - do u have a large house/many storeys high?
