ZANUSSI WJD1257 DOOR LOCKED BEFORE STARTING WASH?

Hi

I have a Zanussi WJD1257 which has given great service until now; last night i tried to load up the wash and when i went to start the wash the start button LED just flashed continuously and the cycle would not start, followed a series of clicking noise were the door lock light would come on locking the door and realizing at its own accord. Now the door lock is locked(door lock light on as well) with the Door Open! So i cant close the door.
Tried turning ON/OFF but no help.....
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for your replies/support, i have found the part on the net, how do i go about taking out the old interlock? And putting the new one in?

e40 is a doorlock error code.e51 is a motor error code

Now after tinkering, hours later; the door opens/closes as it should but now its displaying e40 and stops about 1 minute into cycle.

Pablo,

Ive just run through the diagnostic (holding down start and clear, whilst turning on) show error code: E51.

After i turn off and turn on, it displays e0-0 and starts a cycle, but had to shut down as door open....water intake starts in the drum, as if a new cycle is starting?
