Why does my Vauxhall Combo 1.7DI (2002) lose power everytime I hit 70mph? At this point the engine management light comes on and stays on until I switch ignition off. At slight inclines in the road I have no power to even maintain speed, nevermind increase speed.
it might be that u have a 70mph restriction device placed on yr van . I have an ex post office combo and it has that device fitted...i was wondering what was happening at 70mph+ but after enquiring i realised its the restrictor. No problem having one now im used to it.

I had a diagnostic test on my vauxhall zafira as had the same problem as you just described, very dangerous. the test proved inconclusive i have since read articles on the internet from watchdog saying it is a common fault in some models of vauxhall, the fault being in the fuel pump and/or fuel regulator. I am personally seeking vauxhall to pay out as it appears to be their problem.
