These TV's suffer capacitor failure on the Power Supply panel, the parts to fix are very cheap (or you can buy the full kit, which is not really necessary if the TV does come on sometimes.
Bypassing the power switch will not help, if you have any LED's lit at all there is power going in to the set, therefore the switch is working.
