My Zanussi FL1032 - doesn't control its spinning steps on program selected?

Hey,

My washing machine does everything it should other than build up the spin cycle speed gradually. It Goes from 0 to 1000 rpm then trips the house electrics.

Can anyone help please? Is it the motor or program control unit that needs fixed. I have checked the brushes and plenty of life left. Check general connections to. No odd sounds present when spinning, draining, filling etc...
