how to take out and clean filter from bosch classix 1200?

we have a bosch classix 1200 express washing machine,of late it has made some strange noises during wash cycle,then yesterday it stopped completely,with 11 minutes left on digital clock !. if i put machine on spin cycle only it just starts on 12 minutes then jumps down to 1 minute and does not spin at all, could this be result of blocked filter or something more sinister ?
