Hotpoint BF71 error code F water leaked in from sink?

I had the same error code F and noticed that with the door open the pump continued to run. By closing the door I found that after a good few minutes the dishwasher sounded like it was progressing through its cycle and so left it to complete. After opening the door again, '0' appeared in the display and the dishwasher seemed to be back to normal again.
