How to put top spray arm back on AEG 60870 ?

Recently the top spray arm came off on my AEG 60870. The connection in the top went further into the top of the machine. I have tried pulling it down because i can see where the spray arm is meant to connect but cant pull it down far enough. Is there a nack to this or do i have to start pulling the machine apart? Also since the spray arm came off i have had error code .30 flashing when trying to run it....is this problem all connected??

Many thanks CK. Im probably bein a complete numpty here but ive pulled the dishwasher out and cant see where or how to take the top off to get to the plastic part you are telling me about. I have done another wash since i posted this and it went full cycle without displaying the .30 code, i know it wont last for long though. Doesnt seem to be any excess water in the base as yet but im sure if i leave it much longer i will have issues like you said. Further advice is much appreciated.....

pull it out from under the worktop.hold the top plastic down whilst pushing the upper arm back on.this being missing will of caused a leak in to the base.you must get the water out of the base TOTALLY to reset the anti flood switch which is the i30 fault code you now have flashing.once pulled out it is a simple fix
