How can I fix my whirlpool thin twin washer?

I was told that the timer went out on my washer so I replaced that today and its still having the same problem. It will start to run like normal and then about 3 minutes in the cycle it will stop. I can change the dial to the Rinse cycle and it will again run about 5 minutes and then stop and it won't even go on the Spin cycle. Is there anyone that can help? Please let me know.
