Hotpoint d/w stopped midcycle with display flashing, how can I fix it?

My Hotpoint dishwasher, DWM75 has stopped mid cycle with the display flashing and wont start. Does anyone know how to clear the problem?

The flashing is probably a code, so see what error it corresponds to in the manual.
Mine stopped draining with E2 message, which means blocked filter or faulty heater element.
I'm now looking for a replacment element....

If not check the drain lines to make sure there isn't a dead rat or similar.
