Why won't my Boschh Classix washer heat water?

My Bosch Classix 1200 washing machine has decided to wash everything on cold today. It is cold water fill only, so usually heats water as required. When it failed to heat for one cycle, I ran it again, and it heated for some of that cycle, but then has failed again at the third attempt
