What is causing the squealing noise from the belt end of the alternator. Only does it on low revs goes when revs are increased. Sounds like a metallic squeal/rattle rather than a slipping belt. 04 octavia 2.0L
Rob my Octavia was doing exactly the same this week. Three days later the alternator pulley came off and within 15 minutes of driving the battery had flattened to such a degree that the car was un-drivable. I would suggest that you get yours looked at ASAP.
