I have a VERY NOISY dryer , had it 6 years (!) and it's been excellent....now it's making horrible whining noises as though a bearing is on it's way out ...
any ideas of how to fix please or should I think about a new one ...??

Mine did the same thing, turned out to be the idler bearing which I managed to lubricate with graphite. Gave me a while longer before looking for a new one ;-) Now my drive belt has just failed, not bad for 8 years and daily use, constantly running in winter. Hoping to find a replacement for that and keep going to 10th birthday...
